MEIGS, GA - Bobby Gene Weldon, Sr., 64, of Meigs, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Mayo Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Moultrie Church of Christ with Minister Zach Griffin and Minister Kelly Wheeler officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 PM Tuesday at Moultrie Church of Christ.
Casketbearers will be Robert Wisenbaker, Ricky Willis, Donnie Willis, Chris Holley, Billy Benton, and Larry DeMott.
Born December 24, 1959, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Earl Weldon and Virginia Perkins Weldon. Mr. Bobby was the supervisor for Southern Concrete and a member of Moultrie Church of Christ. He was a wonderful, caring husband, father, and grandfather, who loved his family dearly. Mr. Bobby enjoyed being outdoors, going fishing, cutting grass, and golfing. You could catch him sometimes, sitting back and appreciating a good cup of coffee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Earl Weldon, Carolyn Gay, Ivan Weldon, and Donnie Weldon.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Sherry Lynne Casteloes Weldon; children, Britney Yawn and husband Hugh, Bobby Weldon, Jr. and wife Trinity; grandchildren, Tyler Yawn, Leah Yawn, Sadie Yawn, Halle Yawn, Abel Yawn, Asher Weldon, Adrienne King; siblings, Jerry Weldon and wife Ann, Linda Willis and husband Bobby, Barbara Benton, Vickie Carlton and husband Randall; bonus family, Josh Taylor and wife Nikki, their children, Haidyn, Piper, Killian; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 200 First Street SW, Rochester, MN 55905.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
