Bom Oh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Cemetery, Crematory - Gig Harbor on Dec. 13, 2025.
With a heart full of love and a spirit filled with adventure, Bom Sye Oh lived every moment of his life to the fullest. Born on August 10, 1954, in Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea, Bom was a man of ambition and compassion; he was a loving father, a successful businessman, and a respected community leader. His zest for life, coupled with an innate kindness, shone through in his interactions with everyone he met. As Mark Twain once said, "The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why." For Bom, that day came when he realized his passion for building not just structures, but relationships and communities.

Bom moved to Lakewood, Washington and for the past 25 years, he made it his home. He found joy in the simplest things, such as fishing and boating, and his love for travel led him on many an adventure. He was a man of ambition, who carved out a successful career as a business owner in the construction industry. Yet, his achievements extended far beyond his professional life. He was a founding member and Chairman of the Northwest American Chungcheong Association, serving as its first and fourth president, and also held the esteemed position of the 18th president of the Washington State Lion's Club. In 2003, his dedication was recognized when he received a Plaque of Recognition from the Mayor of Daejeon Metropolitan City, Republic of Korea.

Bom was a man who genuinely cared about people, and his compassionate nature made him a beloved figure in the community. Above all, he cherished his family, finding his greatest joy in their company. He is survived by his daughters Yon Kyong, Ok Kyong Oh, Anna Choi, and Youn Kyong Coy. His mother, Nam Suk, preceded him in death. His love for his family and his commitment to his community will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Bom's life will be celebrated on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Crematory, and Memorial Park, 8503 Washington 16, Gig Harbor, Washington, 98332. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am PST, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm PST. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream will be available at [Bom's Memorial Page](https://my.gather.app/remember/heyung-oh). The graveside service will be held at the same location at 2:00 pm PST.
