Bonnie Y. Egros

Bonnie Y. Egros, 76, of Monessen, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 30, 2026 in her home. A daughter of the late Vilho and Pauline (Kachur) Yoki, she was born in Charleroi on January 30, 1950.

Bonnie was a member of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Belle Vernon. She was a 1967 Monessen H.S. graduate, a California State College graduate, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in education in 1971 and a Master's in Education in 1974. Bonnie was employed as a family day care supervisor for Mon Valley Community Health Service and was a former librarian for many years at the Belle Vernon Public Library. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and knitting. She knitted hundreds of newborn hats for the local hospitals. Bonnie loved spending time with her husband and helping with bee keeping chores. She loved to read and spend time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James E. Egros, who she married on July 19, 1980, two sons and a daughter in-law, James C. and Kelly May Egros of Flintstone, MD and Michael W. Egros of Monessen, and two grandchildren, Kendall May Egros and James Ryan Egros. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Yoki.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 6 to 8 P.M. in the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 222 Mary Street, Belle Vernon. A Parastas service will be held at 7:30 P.M. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 10 A.M. at the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church with Fr. Stephan Gresh officiating. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
