Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, age 72, passed away on January 01, 2023, at Bay Shore Nursing Center in Bay City with her family by her side. Bonnie was born on June 23, 1950, in Bay City, MI to the late Edward and Eleanor (Jerore) Bender. She graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1968 and married the love of her life Andrew L. Gwizdala, Jr on June 13, 1970, and he predeceased her on May 20, 2000. Bonnie enjoyed bowling in her younger years, quilting, crochet, and helping others before helping herself. She was an Avon Representative for many years and a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bay City
Bonnie is survived by her sons, Andy (Holly) Gwizdala and Greg Gwizdala; grandchildren, Olivia and Nathan Gwizdala, sister Diane (Bob) Migut, brother Ed (Julie) Bender, in-laws: Louie Gwizdala, Virginia Roupe, Ben (Debbie) Gwizdala, Ron (Barb) Gwizdala, Charles Bork, and Deb Gwizdala and several nieces and nephews. Bonnie was predeceased by her parents Edward and Eleanor, sister Barb Bork, father and mother-in-law Andrew and Shirley Gwizdala and a brother-in-law Mark Gwizdala.
A Memorial Service for Bonnie will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1010 33rd Street, Bay City, MI 48708. Rev. Joel Pankow will officiate, and inurnment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the church on Wednesday, January 11th from 10:00 AM until the time of Service. No visitation will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to "Family Wishes" in care of Andy Gwizdala for expenses.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Bay Shores Nursing Center for their kind and compassionate care they gave Bonnie during her time with them.
