Bonnie Katz, 79, of Plattsburgh, New York, passed away suddenly on November 2, 2025, leaving behind a life defined by love, loyalty, and laughter. Born in Peru, New York, to Charles and Marjorie McGee, Bonnie was one of ten children and grew into the steady, caring presence her family could always count on. As the oldest sister, she became the matriarch - the one who kept everyone connected, the calm voice in the storm, and the heart that held the family together.

Bonnie was known for her resilience and determination. No matter what life handed her, she faced it head-on with grace, humor, and strength. She could always be counted on - whether to lend a hand, offer advice, or simply show up when it mattered most.

Family was at the center of everything Bonnie did. She shared a deep and lasting love with her late husband, Carl Katz, whose memory stayed close to her heart. She was a devoted mother to Mat, Will (Jen), Kristen, and her late son Mike, and a proud grandmother to Owen, Carter, Avah, and Mikey. Her love extended well beyond her own children - she embraced her nieces and nephews like her own, celebrating their lives and joys as part of her growing family.

Bonnie was a cherished sister to Carol Borner(Bruce), Diane Rock(Kevin), Cathy Adams, Gail Roushia (Bill), Karen Billings(Creston), and her brother Rollie McGee(Yong) and is predeceased by her brothers Charlie McGee, Gary McGee, and Allen McGee and her brother in law Thomas.

In her later years, she found love, happiness and joy with Maynard Senecal. Their love was a beautiful reminder that the heart always has room to grow, no matter how many seasons of life has passed.

At Catherine Gardens Senior Center, she embraced and created a community where she brought warmth, humor, and kindness to everyone she met.

A lifelong Mets fan, Bonnie cheered for her team with the same unwavering spirit she carried through life - hopeful, loyal, and full of heart. She was someone who said what she believed, did what was right, and stood by the people she loved.

Bonnie will be remembered for her strength, her humor, and the way she made people feel safe and seen. Her presence filled every room; her absence will be deeply felt. But her spirit - steady, generous, and kind - will live on in every life she touched.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Victory Church, Plattsburgh, NY, on Friday, November 7, at 10 a.m. Following the Mass, a Celebration of Life will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Catherine Gardens Community Center, 5135 North Catherine Street, Plattsburgh, NY. All flowers and arrangements may be sent to Catherine Gardens.
