Joanne (Jo) Patnode, 63, of Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025 at her home. She was born in Saranac Lake on September 14, 1962; daughter of Philip and Patricia (Timmins) Smith.

Jo worked for 10 years as an EMS responder before returning to school and graduated to work as an RN, BSN for over 20 years throughout the north country. She found joy and love from rescuing and spending time with her animals and loved ones, feeding people and kayaking.

Survivors include her children, Stephen Bickford, Cameron (Angela) Patnode, and Siobhan Patnode; her grandson Theodore Patnode; her sister BeBe (Randy) Bickford; her nephew's Danny (Lea) Bickford and RJ Bickford; sister-in-law Okyo (Vince) Sthair and their children Jayson and Christina; brothers-in-law Scott, Eddy and Matthew Patnode; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Mark E. Patnode.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. With a brief service at Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh to immediately follow.

In honor of Jo's spirit feel free to wear her favorite color green and/or your most hippie at heart clothes.

A reception will follow the burial at American Legion Post 1619 in Morrisonville from 3:00 to 5:00pm.

Donations in Jo's memory may be made to Elmore SPCA in Peru, NY.

Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the R.W. Walker Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh, NY.
