Bonnie Pina-Santiago

Ms. Bonnie Pina-Santiago, a Marstons Mills native has joined Our Lord Jesus Christ on November 3rd, 2025. She passed away after a short illness. A resilient woman and devoted Catholic was officially called home. She is survived by significant other Walter R. Bowman of 38 years. Immediate family survived Bonnie who includes brother Barry A. Pina, and daughter Vanessa L Santiago (Anderson) via her father Derek Callahan (AKA formerly) Carlos Santiago. Through Walter Bowman, Bonnie is also survived by her son Kyle R. Bowman.

Bonnie is joined in "Heaven" alongside her parents John and Adeline Pina (Pyers-Perry). Her parents passed in 2005 and 2009, respectively. The Cape Verdean vibrant legacy started with John and Adeline who were both born in Cabo Verde islands, Fogo and Brava. Bonnie's legacy along with the impact of her passing is felt tremendously. This includes a massive void which has had a ripple effect on extended family, and cousins of the Pina and Tavares family. These cousins and extended family members have bestowed a reach of love and support from Marstons Mills, Wareham, and New Bedford.

Bonnie was a kind and diligent woman with a huge heart. She would show love and be welcoming to everyone, which exudes gratitude, and fairness to all. For those who knew her best, she would either be in her garden finding the newest herbs and vegetables to cook and providing a hearty meal to those closest to her. For goodwill, kindness and a hot meal is definitely the Cape Verdean culture. "Our Matriarch" is our pillar, and a backbone to our family. Similar to her immediate family, Bonnie is a bubbly and warm individual known as "extended Mayor" of Cape Cod. Therefore, she is someone whom everyone always said Hello to- or has had a kind word about Bonnie.

Despite Bonnie's walk and crossover into Heaven, she is always in our hearts. Keeping her peace and comfort, family was at her bedside at Brigham & Women's Hospital in her final hours. She was surrounded by immediate family who includes Glen and Jennifer Tavares along with Bruce and Robin Santiago. All of whom are from Oakdale Heights in Wareham Massachusetts.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 3p-6p on Monday December 8th, 2025, from 3-6 PM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills. A Catholic Mass will be held on Tuesday December 9th, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumption Church Osterville MA. After Mass, will be a Celebration of Life Event at Tomatoes Italian Bar & Grille; 280 MA 130 Sandwich Massachusetts.
