Mary R. Gammon

Mary R. (Morriss) Gammon, 97, of Osterville, passed away in her home on November 10, 2025.

She was the loving wife of 67 years to the late Charles Gammon. Born on November 17, 1927, her father's birthday, to the late Michalena (Lesiczka) and James Morriss.

She attended St. James School and St James High School in Haverhill, MA. Mary worked at Western Electric in Haverhill where she met her husband. She mostly devoted her life to taking care of her family. Wonderful memories were made with her family and friends including camping, dirt bike riding, and panning for gold in California. She also enjoyed her country music and was very proud of her Catholic faith.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne Dinnel of Centerville, MA and her son Thomas Gammon of Delaware, Ohio, her grandchildren, Chad Dinnel, Scott Dinnel, Brian Dinnel, Erin Gammon Bakker, Elizabeth Gammon Lichtenberger, Katherine Gammon Bays, Megan Gammon Mompher, 16 great grandchildren, niece Debra McDonald of Spring Hill, TN, nephew Michael Marek of Yorba Linda, CA, and niece Melodie Ybarra of Placentia, CA. She was predeceased by her son James Gammon, her sister Peggy Marek, her great nephews Brandon, Conner, and Jacob Ybarra and their father Donald Ybarra, as well as Paul McDonald. She will be remembered always and forever.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday November 20, 2025 from 4-6 PM in the Chapman Funeral & Cremations, John -Lawrence Chapel, 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills, MA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Wianno Ave. Osterville, MA. Burial will follow in Sandwich Town Cemetery, Sandwich, MA. The family would like to thank the VNA of Cape Cod Hospice , especially Maria Raleigh RN and her compassionate team.
