Bonnie Lean Solomon, 79, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 31st 2025. Bonnie was born in Baltimore, MD to Gilbert and Sylvia Lean on April 4th, 1946.Bonnie grew up in Baltimore, surrounded by her four siblings and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins with whom she shared deep, lifelong bonds. Bonnie attended the University of Maryland, where she earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education. During her time there, she met and married her husband of 53 years, Dr. David Solomon. Shortly after their wedding, Bonnie and David moved to Chicago, where they spent seven years before settling permanently in Tampa in 1976. There, they raised two devoted daughters, welcomed two beloved grandchildren, and cultivated a circle of enduring and meaningful friendships. Since 2021, following David's passing, Bonnie made her home in Hyde Park at Allegro Senior Living, where she was surrounded by a warm and caring community of residents, staff, and caregivers who brought immense joy to her final years. Bonnie is survived by her loving daughters, Kari Brown and Kelly Solomon; her devoted son-in-law, The Honorable Christopher Brown; and her treasured grandchildren, Casey and Chloe Brown, who brought her endless joy. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings and their spouses- Gerald (Selma Rozga) Lean, Lois (Dr. Jay) Copeland, Micheal (Robin) Lean, and Charles (Elizabeth) Lean- as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom she held dear. Bonnie's deep love for her family was the heart of her life, and her presence will be profoundly missed. The service and burial will be held privately. The family welcomes donations to the following organizations as a meaningful way to remember Bonnie:
