Bonnie Wallace, loving wife, mother, nana and friend to many, passed away on October 4, 2023 in Bristol, VA. She was born on July 3, 1956 in Wise, VA to the late James Clyde Laney and Mary Stanley Laney. Bonnie will be deeply missed by all who have been a part of her life.
Bonnie was a thoughtful and caring mother who took great interest in the lives of her children. Her love and support to her family was immeasurable. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother, Bonnie found great joy in her hobbies and interests. She had a passion for roses and gardening. Playing solitaire was also a pastime she enjoyed. Bonnie’s love extended to include her 2 dogs, Penny and Negan, and many birds.
Family was everything to Bonnie and she leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Robert “Bob” Wallace. Robert and Bonnie’s relationship was built on a lifetime of selfless sacrifices and unwavering support.
Bonnie will forever be remembered by her children: Nora Watson and her husband Travis, Robbie Wallace and his wife Julia, J.D. Wallace and his wife Ashley, and Timmy Wallace. Each child held a special place in Bonnie's heart, and they will carry her memory with them always.
She is also survived by her sisters: Faye Fields and Freddie, Joyce Mills and Robert; brothers: Buster Laney and Deborah, Billy Laney; brother-in-law: Mark Wallace and Dottie; sister-in-law: Ann Martin and John; sister-in-law: Mable Wallace; special family member Amy Skeens.
The love Bonnie had for her family extended beyond generations as she leaves behind numerous cherished grandchildren: Jarrad, Anthony, Sara, Morgan, Andrew, Alley, Mattie, Lexi, Conner, Avery, Rowan and Torin. She was also blessed with one great-grandchild Brynlee Rose.
Her memory will be treasured by several special nieces and nephews whose lives she impacted profoundly.
A visitation to honor Bonnie's life will be held on October 7, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Farris Funeral Service - Main Street Chapel located at 427 E Main St in Abingdon, VA. A memorial service will follow the visitation from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location, with Mike Leonard officiating.
Bonnie Wallace was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her kindness and love. Her legacy of unconditional love and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
