Born in Glenn Springs on November 10, 1948, Bonnie Thornton Williams grew up and lived her entire life in Glenn Springs, but went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 18, 2025. She suffered for two years with dementia and dementia-related conditions, which included a fall and a traumatic brain injury.
She was predeceased by her loving mother, Edith Beckett Thornton, and her sister, Carolyn Thornton Smith.
Bonnie is survived by her husband and best friend of 37 years, Aubrey G. Williams, Jr. She is also survived by her children, Edward Thomas Eubanks (Jennifer), Morris O’Neal Eubanks (Stephanie), Lisa Williams Bourcier (Scotty), and Aubrey G. Williams, III (Devin).
She is also survived by her loving sister, Janice Thornton Polk (Ralph); her beloved grandchildren, Taylor Eubanks Brady (Jacob), John Eubanks, Will Eubanks, Thomas Eubanks, Abbey Williams, Sarah Williams, Bradley Bourcier, and Zoey Bourcier; and a great-grandchild, Nolan Brady.
She loved children and served them by teaching Sunday School for over 45 years. Also, her love for the Lord was shown by her dedication to singing in the church choir.
Her working career consisted of employment at Southern Fineblanking in Cowpens; the “original” Skylyn Place Retirement Community; WSPA; and she ended her career as church secretary at Mount Calvary Presbyterian Church, Roebuck for over 20 years, of which 14 of those years as Administrative Assistant to the Pastor.
During her younger, athletic days, she participated in church league softball games. Since that time, she has been an enthusiastic supporter of Clemson athletics, and most recently cheered on the Clemson Women’s softball program.
Thanks and love go to Agape Hospice, and Nurse Ann Martin, who coincidentally was Bonnie’s mother’s Hospice Nurse four years ago.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church, 1399 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. Interment will follow in Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 6001 Highway 215, Glenn Springs, SC 29374.
Please make contributions in memory of Bonnie to a Lewy Body Dementia Research group, such as The Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901. This is a very devastating and misunderstood disease, which is very easily misdiagnosed.
Or you may make contributions to The Glenn Springs Preservation Society, PO Box 571, Pauline, SC 29374. Please denote the memorial for “Cates Building” restoration, which was where Bonnie’s Sunday School classrooms were when she was a child.
