Sylvia Royals Coward of Pauline, SC passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the age of 79. She was born in Newton, NC on September 11, 1945 to the late Charles Edwin and Helen Setzer Royals.
Always a caregiver, Sylvia was a dedicated nurse for over 20 years. She never met a stranger and was known for her warmth and laughter by her friends and family. Sylvia had a big personality and an even bigger heart. She was a devoted wife, proud mother, beloved Mimi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and cherished friend.
She leaves behind her husband of 30 years, Roy Coward; daughters, Pamela B. Gibson and Kim Sutherland (Steve); step-daughters, Leslie Horne (Mark) and Shannon Hawkins (Jake); grandchildren, Brooks Gibson (Morgan), Ashton Twitty (Josh), Jacob Sutherland, Schyler Horne, Davis Horne (Brooke), Carson Horne (Jordan), Evan Hawkins, Payton Hawkins, and Cooper Hawkins; and great-grandchildren, Layla, Benjamin, Charlotte, Stephanie, Chandler, Birdie, and Eliza. They will forever hold her love in their hearts.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2025 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
