Bosko "Bozo" Skoric 1938 – 2025
Bosko "Bozo" Skoric, age 87, passed away surrounded by his loving family. He was born in 1938 in Gornji Strpci, Donji Lapac, Lika, to the late Simo and Djurdjija Skoric. Bosko was the second eldest of five children and carried throughout his life the strength, care, and responsibility that came with being the oldest brother.
Beloved husband of 63 years to Bosa Skoric. Loving father to Jasmina "Jenny" (+Milorad) Acamovic and Seka "Susie" (Sasha) Ristic. Cherished Deda (grandfather) to Daniela (Adam), Kristina (Matthew), Nikola, Tanja (Sean), Aleksandar (Victoria), and Marko. Proud Pradeda (great-grandfather) to Stefan, Liam, and Addison. Dear brother to Smilja (+Vlado) Maksimovic, +Dusan (Jelka) Skoric, +Lazo (+Marija) Skoric, and +Djuro (+Dubravka) Skoric. He is also survived by many adored nieces and nephews.
In 1963, Bosko married his loving wife, Bosa, in Kikinda, Banat. Their first daughter, Jasmina, was born in 1964. The family lived in Kikinda for eight years before immigrating to the United States in 1971, where they settled in Detroit, Michigan, to begin a new chapter of their lives.
Bosko worked tirelessly to provide for his family, taking on many jobs in those early years to ensure their comfort and success. He became a dedicated parishioner of St. Lazarus Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Detroit, Michigan, where he remained an active steward throughout his life. It was there that Bosko and Bosa developed a close-knit circle of friends who became like family, and whose bonds endured through the decades. In 1973, they welcomed their second daughter, Seka, completing their loving family. Shortly thereafter, Bosko began his long and proud career with General Motors, where he worked for 28 years until his retirement in 2004.
After retiring, Bosko and Bosa moved to North Port, Florida - a decision he always described as one of the best of his life. He loved the Florida sunshine, the beach, tending to his garden and beloved mango trees, and spending time with the wonderful friends they met and cherished there. He found great joy in being surrounded by his family, sharing laughter around the pool, and playing Duplo Remi cards with his son-in-law and grandsons.
Bosko will be remembered for his warm smile, kind spirit, and generous heart. He never met a stranger, and everyone who knew him was drawn to his charm and charismatic personality. Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who worked hard and lived fully for the sake of his family. Bosko's life was one of love, faith, and dedication, and his legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved.
