In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cecelia Varner.
Survivors include his children, Mick Varner and his wife, Lita of Kings Mountain, NC, Tracy Varner of Maiden, NC and Jana Lee Little and her husband, Brent of Taylorsville, NC; two grandsons, Will Varner and Kenan Chronister; two granddaughters, Ashton Ferrell and Ansley Green ; two stepchildren, Carma Denny and her husband, Gary of Greenville, SC, and Marty Paris and wife, Christy of Lincolnton, NC; as well as his beloved fur babies, Benji and Peanut.
Boyce enjoyed spending time playing golf and strolling through local flea markets. His favorite times were spent at the Garden City Pier catching fish with his buddies.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 1:00pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton, NC.
