Obituary published on Legacy.com by Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home - Liberty on May 6, 2025.
Brad Adams' record was clear, his house was in order, and he was ready for the call. Surrounded by his loved ones, he traveled the highway to Heaven on Sunday, May 4th, 2025.
Brad Adams was born July 9th, 1965, in Richmond, Indiana. He was the youngest son to the late Gene and Ruth Hoke Adams. One of seven children, growing up, he lived on a humble farm, and farmed with his Daddy, and gained a work ethic that he carried throughout his entire life. Brad was a graduate of Union County High School, the class of 1983.
On February 21st, 1987, Brad married the love of his life, Wanda Sue Wilmoth, at the Liberty Church of the Nazarene, where he's been a lifetime member.
Brad was the master at any musical instrument he picked up and loved listening to Southern Gospel. He enjoyed watching his oldest grandson play the trumpet and had many special moments playing guitar and singing with his ZD.
He was a courageous and humble servant of the almighty God. He had faith like no other, being saved at a young age and made it a point to be in church whenever the doors were opened, while he was physically capable.
Brad traveled in the heat/cold to be at a marching competitions, concerts, or sporting events. He was his grandchildren's biggest fan in all they did.
Telling jokes came easy to Brad, like his father before him, he couldn't get to the punchline without laughing! But always had a smile or joke to share.
Not only did Brad master instruments, he mastered his work in machines. He was a perfectionist. He was self-employed for over 25 years, running his company, Adams Gage Co. While self-employed, he also worked in Research and Development at P & G, where he developed a lasting friendship with a great man, Mike Griffen. In recent years he was affiliated with Heartland Consulting Group as well.
Brad was a servant to his community. Dedicating 20 years to the Liberty Volunteer Fire Department and known as "The Pump Man" he impressed surrounding departments with his strength and abilities during mutual aide. Also, the decades he dedicated to his home church being the pianist, and playing alongside his oldest brother "Jeffro," he truly loved his life in Union County. He would even plow the sidewalks, during the winter months, for the kids who walked to school.
Brad is survived by his wife of 38 years, Wanda. Their three children; Benjamin K. Adams, Jacob Lee Adams, Elizabeth Marie (Mike) Hawkins. Six grandchildren; Tyler "The OG", Zac "ZD", Brittney, Luke, Conall, Haydn. Three great grandchildren; Colton, Ronnie, Alana.
Siblings; Carolyn Skinner, Deborah (Eudell) Kelly, Jeffery (Jacquie) Adams, Gregory Adams, Beverly (John) Scott & Amy (Tom) Blevins and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special cousin Pam (Tom) Ramsey.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Ruth, and brother-in-law Terry Skinner.
Visitation and Funeral services will be held at Liberty Church of the Nazarene. Visitation services will be Thursday, May 8, 4:00- 8:00 PM with the Funeral service Friday, May 9, at 11:00 AM. Brother in life, and Brother in Christ, Jeff Adams, will conduct the services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Liberty Church of the Nazarene or Union County
Cancer Society.
