Brad Lanning, 70, of Mancelona passed away peacefully in his home on December 14, 2024. He was born August 4, 1954, the son of Wayne and Shirley Lanning.
He is survived by many who loved his generous nature and fun-loving spirit, including his children and their spouses, Seth Lanning and Morgan Buscher, Laurelin and Chris Martin, and Marissa Lanning and Jarred Fitch; and grandchildren, Sylvia and Dexter; brother and sisters Mike and Edna Lanning, Patricia Lanning and Jim Allen, and Carolyn Lanning, and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of 39 years, Jana, and his sister Harriet Lanning.
Brad loved spending time with his family and was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He loved listening to rock and blues music and especially enjoyed spending time listening to them live. Brad also loved cars, especially old muscle cars, a trait he shared with his grandson. He frequently traveled to races and car shows with friends and family. A jack of all trades, Brad would try his hand at fixing just about anything. He was optimistic and would always do his best to bring a smile to anyone's face. He loved to help others, and was always there for his family whatever was needed. He enjoyed traveling, and took many wonderful trips with his family and wife before her passing. He was looking forward to his annual trip somewhere warm, especially after all this snow! Brad will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
Brad's service will be held January 18, 2025 from 12 to 4:00 pm with services at 3:00 pm at Custer Township Hall, 2949 Alden Highway, Mancelona, Michigan.
