Brad Shutt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schneider Funeral Home - Hatboro on Dec. 1, 2025.
Brad Shutt of Horsham passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. He was 72 years old. Brad was the beloved husband of Jean Shutt with whom he had shared 49 years of marriage. He was born in Abington, PA to the late Frank and Doris Shutt.

In addition to his wife, Brad is survived by his loving children; Ken Shutt (Patti), Megan Johnson (Don) and Andrew Shutt (Lauren), adoring grandchildren, Gabriel, Inara, Braden, Logan, Taylor, Ian and a sister, Patty Guyer. In addition to his parents Brad was predeceased by his brother, David Shutt.

Brad was raised on his family farm and continued to be interested in working with the ground as a sod farm crew supervisor, a logger, and spent most of his career as a grounds foreman and supervisor for Central Bucks and then North Penn School Districts. After his retirement, he took a part-time job that he truly enjoyed with Cargo Trailer, in Lansdale, transporting trailers.

Brad was a loving father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were his greatest source of pride. He was appreciated for being that man who felt it was so important to help, and would jump in and help friends, family and neighbors with whatever project or chore that was needed. He was so handy that there were not many jobs he couldn't do or figure out how to do. In the kitchen, he enjoyed making his famous Chex Mix, homemade pickles and applesauce. Brad surprised many of his friends when he and Jean took up ballroom dancing and eventually became ballroom dance instructors. He was an avid "Big Bang Theory" fan, but his obsession with all things John Deere was what he was most known for. He always said that he "bled green and yellow".

Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Monday, December 8th, at 4:30 in the afternoon until 6:00. The family requests that visitors dress casually, especially sporting John Deere, "Big Bang Theory" apparel, or flannel shirts At Schneider Funeral Home. 431 N. York Road, Hatboro, PA

In lieu of flowers, please share a note with the family describing a new experience in which you have paid forward Brad's mission of helping others. This might include helping a neighbor fix a broken lawn mower, doing chores for an elderly neighbor, relative or friend, making a contribution to a sick child in your community, or some other heartfelt act of kindness.
