Howard Anson Shutt, 94, passed away on December 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter in and quiet strength. To those who knew him, Howard was more than a father, grandfather, and friend. He was a source of wisdom, comfort, and unwavering support.
Born in North Bingham, PA, Howard lived a life rooted in family values, faith, generosity, and hard work. He found joy in fishing and hunting with his sons and grandchildren and attending all his children's and grandchildren's events through the years. He never missed an opportunity tone outside, spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. He served as a long-term member of the Lawrenceville Fire and Ambulance Association. He also served in the Korean War as a SSGT. in the Army.
Howard is survived by his wife of 70 years, Anna May (Wheeler) Shutt, formerly of
Lawrenceville, PA, who now resides in
Virginia Beach, VA. Daughter: Patricia (Bill) Vajda,
Virginia Beach, VA; Son: Robert Micheal (Robin) Shutt, Ocean Pines, MD; Son: Steven (Tracy) Shutt,
Lawrenceville, PA; Son: Kenneth (Jessica) Shutt, Parksley, VA; Grandchildren Sara Jo Shutt, Greg (Brittany) Vajda, Jessie Jachimski, Chaz (Ami) Jachimski, Michael (Austin) Shutt, Karen (Scott) Bailey, Jillian (Richie) Seaton, Matthew (Hope) Shutt and 4 Great Grandchildren. Sisters: Angie (Melvin) Fink, TN; Jennie Urbaniak,
Lawrenceville, PA. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Howard was preceded in death by his mother and father, Frank (Alice) Shutt; Brothers: Virgil Shutt, Louie Shutt, Leo Shutt, Jim Shutt, Charlie Shutt, Bill Shutt, Hank Shutt, and sister Betty Sturvident. Howard will be deeply missed by family and loved ones, but his memory will live on through the lives of his children and grandchildren.
