Isabella "Bella" Marie Morrill, born November 6, 2008 in Virginia Beach, passed away on February 3, 2026 at the age of 17. Bella was born a beautiful, perfect baby with bright blue eyes, precious cheeks and the most adorable smile and head of strawberry blonde hair; a true firecracker from the start and from that moment she was one of our three greatest loves. Bella immediately became a water baby at a few months old and went on to become a competitive swimmer at age 3. She swam for Chester Gators, ODAC, Tide Swimming, Oceana and Ashville Park Pirates. At 12 years old, she was ranked among the top 100 swimmers in the nation. And when she was not in the pool, she was in the ocean, surfing, sitting by the beach, floating in the pool, sun bathing, tubing and boating like a princess.
Bella had a true connection and gift with art. She was enrolled in the gifted and talented program beginning in elementary school and possessed a tremendous ability to sketch and paint anything as her creativity reflected her spirit. Bella's most recent, unfinished piece was a painting of calla lilies and a free-flying dove with open wings being received by another dove.
She loved all animals and found comfort and joy with her beloved dogs: Raleigh (but she changed his name to Walter), princess Maisey and Dream, whom she fondly referred to as Nightmare. You could often find her lying in a dog bed with all three or sneaking them treats while telling them not to tell anyone. She was most at peace when surrounded by animals as she truly felt they could see into her heart.
Bella was smart, talented, endlessly adventurous and always approached life with courage. She was athletic, fearless, hilarious, empathetic, deeply humble, never seeking recognition. She was everyone's cheerleader; the fixer, encouraging, hopeful and always generous with her love and support. Bella was strong-willed, always true to herself, independent and fiercely loyal. She wore all the princess dresses, never cared about being seen, but cared about seeing others.
Bella adored her younger brother, Rylan, "Little Buddy" and baby sister, Isla, "Pooka Bear." The love they shared was strong and deep, a bond built on friendship, protection and endless affection. They shared constant jokes, always laughing and giggling at things only they understood. Bella was their teacher in the most important ways-she taught them how to talk, walk, run, ride a bike and how to fall and get back up. She taught them to chase their dreams, live outside of the box, be different, be yourself, love yourself, have compassion, give grace, to never give up and to always turn the music up.
Bug, as she was often referred to as, loved her daddy and thought he truly hung the moon and was the smartest, greatest man. They loved to go to the playground, ride bikes, make sand castles, read stories, race in the pool, share seafood, drive the boat, surf and share all the jokes. He was her Hero and she was his Buggy; his first baby girl, the light of his life.
Bella had a deep connection with her mom every second of her 17 years. They enjoyed every mommy and me class from music, dance, swimming, gymnastics, and horseback riding. They loved to make trips to the zoo, the beach, the pool and go on long walks. As the years progressed they swam, surfed, danced, sang all the songs, talked for hours, attended all the concerts, basked in the sun, floated in the pool, and always made sure they had one foot on the other tube, staying linked. The bond was unbreakable.
Isabella is survived by her loving parents, Scott and Courtney Morrill, brother Rylan, sister Isla; grandfather Dr. John Morrill; grandparents Thomas and Nancy Crowley; Aunt Heather (Morrill) and Uncle David Ashley; cousins Cody Graham and Hannah Ashley; Aunt Ashley (Crowley) and Uncle Ryan Bartholf; cousins Kaitlyn, Thomas, Kayleigh, Madison, Doxey Bartholf; and preceded in death by her grandmother, Diane Morrill.
The Morrill Family is forever grateful for all the unconditional love, meals, cards, messages, donations, calls, hugs, flowers, baskets, pictures, songs, support and prayers.
