Bradley “Brad” Jay Carr August 5, 1965 – October 11, 2025 Sioux City, Iowa
Bradley “Brad” Jay Carr, age 60, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Brad was born on August 5, 1965, in Yuma, Arizona, to John and Nyla Carr. He spent his career working in the cabinet and millwork field, where he took pride in his craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Brad shared a lifelong bond with his beloved wife of 38 years, Lynda Carr, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Their greatest joy came with the arrival of their children, Tyler Carr and Haley Carr, who were the center of Brad’s world. He was a proud and loving father — always present, supportive, and full of encouragement.
Brad was known for his kind heart and his willingness to help anyone in need. Family and close friends meant everything to him. He had a steady supply of “Dad Jokes” that brought groans, eye rolls, and lots of laughter — and he never missed a chance to deliver one. His humor, warmth, and generosity made him a constant source of comfort and joy to those around him.
He had a deep love for the outdoors. Camping was one of his greatest passions — whether in the woods, by a lake, or under the stars, Brad found peace and happiness in nature. His love for camping began many years ago with the family’s original camper, fondly known as the “Chuckle Hut.” He also enjoyed woodworking in his free time, continuing his love for building and creating even outside of work.
Brad is survived by his wife, Lynda Carr; his children, Tyler Carr and Haley Carr; his siblings, James “Jim” Carr and his wife Angela, Kelly Cook and her husband Jess, Destry Siegfried and her husband Justin, and sister-in-law Becky Carr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nyla Carr; and his brothers, Jeff Carr and Craig Carr; and many other loved ones and dear friends who were an important part of his life.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness or donations to the Siouxland Humane Society in Brad’s memory. Brad and Lynda lovingly rescued two brother dogs who shared their home for 12 years, and 2 years ago beloved Saint Bernard which brought unconditional love and support to Brad. Supporting the Humane Society or simply extending a helping hand to others reflects the love and generosity Brad shared throughout his life. Brad’s legacy of love, laughter, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
