In Loving Memory of Bradley Bradsher Laws

12/23/1944 - 7/17/2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bradley Bradsher Laws, 80, of Roxboro. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025, surrounded by loved ones who will forever cherish the impact he made on their lives. Family was everything to Brad. He worked tirelessly to provide not only comfort and security, but love, guidance, and warmth. His greatest accomplishments were not found in titles or possessions, but in the people he raised, supported, and cherished. Brad was preceded in death by his parents, W. Umstead & Helen Bradsher Laws, brother, Bill Laws, and granddaughter, Merritt Smith. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beverly Eastwood Laws and his three children, Alan (Christy) Laws, Phillip (Laura) Laws and Mary Helen (Jeff) Smith. He is also survived by three grandchildren who lovingly called him papa, David & Julia Laws and Ellis Smith. Brad was also blessed with a large extended family who he loved dearly.

Brad was the kind of man who showed his love not just in words, but through quiet actions, hard work, and unwavering presence. As a young man, he began working in the family businesses, first at Laws Poultry and later at B&B motor lines. He then went on to work at Cooper Kenworth as a diesel mechanic. He later worked at IBM from 1980-2002 and Solectron until his retirement in 2007. He was the first to lend a hand and the last to ask for help. Whether he was fixing something that was broken, offering a listening ear, or simply showing up when it mattered most, Brad lived his life in service to others.

His hands told the story of a life spent building, creating, and caring - for his family, his community, and anyone who needed him. He was a man of quiet strength, deep wisdom, and a heart full of love. Though he never sought the spotlight, his influence was deeply felt and will be remembered by all who knew him. He was an active member of Roxboro Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He had a heart for missions and service, helping people locally and abroad including missions work in Belize and Red Springs, NC. His work also included the construction of handicap ramps for the local community.

A celebration of Brad's life will be held 11AM Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Roxboro Baptist Church by the Rev. Mike Moose. The family will receive friends from 10-11AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Roxboro Baptist Church, P.O. Box 348, Roxboro, NC, 27573.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for every moment shared with Brad - a father, a papa, a mentor, and a man who made the world better simply by being in it.
