COVINGTON - Brandon Basye, 39, of Covington, passed away of natural causes early Thursday morning, September 11, 2025, at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He was born February 24, 1986, in Covington. He was preceded in death by his mother, Angela Laughman; and is survived by his father and stepmother, Michael & Tina Basye of Covington.
Brandon will also be missed and remembered by his sons, Colton Basye and Jacob Basye, both of Covington; a granddaughter, Evelynn Mae Basye; his siblings, Jon (Maria) Basye, Roxanne (Issac) Martinez, Isaiah (Courtney) Winston, Elijah Laughman, Brandi Young, D.J. Young; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Brandon was a 2005 graduate of Covington High School and worked for his family's business, Piqua Transfer, since age 12. He loved racing at Shady Bowl and was a member of the V.F.W. of Covington. Brandon loved spending time with his friends and family, riding motorcycles, and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 18, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Rev. James Duell and Deacon Robert Basye officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
