Robert Basye Obituary
He was born on October 7, 1957 in Bergton to the late Lorenzo Boyd, Jr. and Laura Nell Southerly Bayse.
Robert served in the United States Air Force and later operated heavy machinery before retiring.
On September 29, 2007 he married the former Mary Whetzel who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Robert Basye and wife Lindsey; daughters, Nicole Cooper and husband Warren, Ginger Basye; stepchildren, Gregory Dove, Jr., Gabriel Dove, Echo Morris and husband Roy Jr., five grandchildren, fifteen step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren; brothers, Gregory, John, Eric Basye; sisters, Madaline Cohran, Margaret Delawder; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, four grandchildren whom he helped raise, Alyssa Watson, Addison Dutton, Dayton Dove, Gage Dove; a special great nephew who he help raise, Tucker "Runt" Whetzel.
Pastor Dean Williams will conduct a funeral service 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Mathias Mennonite Church, burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Sunday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
