Brandon Harold "Taptan" Higgins

Brandon Harold "Taptan" Higgins, age 40, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the 4500 Block of US 41 in Hopkinsville. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Bro. Thad Hopper officiating and burial to follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the service time at 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements of their loved one.

Brandon was born on October 6, 1985, in Madisonville, KY, the son of Angela Higgins Matheney of Crofton and the late Tommy Higgins. He was self-employed as a computer tech and was a Christian. He loved playing his guitar (Babygirl), riding dirt bikes, cooking, hiking, fishing, or just sitting by a bonfire listening to music and looking at the stars. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dwayne Gamble; his paternal grandmother, Evelynn "Memaw Kitty" Sellers; and his fiancé, Reba Phelphs.

Survivors include his mother and father, Angela (Jeff) Matheney of Crofton; his two sons, Blake Higgins and Ethan Higgins both of Hopkinsville; his four brothers, Joseph Matheney of Crofton, Gary (Alexandria) Messenger of Cadiz, Austin Higgins of Hopkinsville, Aidan Higgins of Hopkinsville; his two sisters, Tia Matheney Eagen of Hopkinsville, Elizabeth (Elijah) Higgins Mata of Oak Grove, KY; several nieces and nephews; his paternal grandfathers, Terry Higgins of Maryland, Norman Sellers of Hopkinsville; his maternal grandmothers, Gloria "Mamaw" Gamble of Crofton, and Charlotte "Grandma" Matheney of Crofton.
