Brandon Mulina, a resident of Hammond, Louisiana, died on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the NeuroMedical Center in Baton Rouge, at the age of 42.
Suddenly stricken with Guillain-Barré syndrome last month, Brandon had made great strides in overcoming this adversity with a huge amount of determination, persistence, and faith. After making vast improvements and with the end of his rehabilitation in sight, he tragically succumbed to other complications of the disease.
Having accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a young age, Brandon was a member of First Baptist Church Franklinton. He graduated from Franklinton High School in 1999 and later received a degree in Communication Arts from Louisiana College. At the time of his passing he was the Director of Customer Experience at Great American RV SuperStore where he worked tirelessly and befriended countless coworkers and customers alike.
As Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Hammond Regional Arts Center, Brandon left an indelible mark on that organization. It described him as "a beacon of progression and compassion." He always ensured that everyone involved with its events felt welcome and enjoyed themselves, and helped the organization reach new heights.
For over fifteen years, Brandon had been devoted to the Iota Delta Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity at Southeastern Louisiana University. He was a founder and former officer and served as a chapter advisor for the fraternity. More importantly, Brandon was a friend, role model, mentor, and positive voice for anyone who needed it. His loss is profoundly felt among his many Theta Chi brothers.
Brandon was most renowned for his generosity. He freely gave of his time, resources, sense of humor, gift of singing, knowledge of Star Trek, and his home. Above all, he blessed us with his laughter. Gifted with the most unique, infectious, and genuine laughs, he could instantly light up not just a room but an entire building. Coming from a place deep within, his laughter seemed so natural and effortless and brought pure unadulterated joy to all those who were fortunate enough to hear it.
He is survived by his mother, Lynn Ball Mulina; a brother, Wesley Mulina; a sister, Judy Kennedy; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins; along with many dear friends. Brandon also leaves behind his beloved Shih Tzu, "Miss" London, a faithful companion and the light of his life for the past sixteen years.
Preceding Brandon in death were his father, J. W. Mulina, and his grandparents, Cecil and Lillian Ball, and Jewell and Athalee Mulina.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home, 1109 Bene Street, Franklinton, on Monday August 21 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will resume at 9:00 am on Tuesday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Tuesday with Eld. Duane Ball and Eld. Doyle Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are John Burris, Chuck Cormier, James Erwin, Dylan LaPlante, Darren LeBlanc, Mauricio Mena, Jacob Sharkey, and Steven Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Theta Chi fraternity.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hammond Regional Arts Center, P.O. Box 2974, Hammond, LA 70404.

I remember Brandon for his wonderful laugh and dimples. He was such a good friend to so many, including my son Jeff Broussard. He was taken so soon and so suddenly.

Brandon was truly one of a kind. We worked together at Lowes and spent many hours traveling together. He was my favorite airport buddy. He was kind, generous and funny. I loved hearing all his puppy tales of London. The world is a little less radiant with him gone. Brandon, you will be greatly missed. I will see you on the other side, my friend.

Condolences to Brandon´s family and friends. I was fortunate to work with or for Brandon at Lowe´s. He did literally light up a room just by showing up. Told the best stories, always kind and patient, everyone loved him. I am heartbroken with his loss, Denise Creekmore
