Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beach Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. on Oct. 23, 2024.
On Sunday, October 20, 2024, our beloved Brandy went to be with our Lord and Savior. Brandy B. Baker was affectionately known as Puddin, Sissy and "B". Brandy was born March 21, 1980, to Joyce B. Baker-Cameron and Arthur Joyner, Jr.
Brandy attended Virginia Beach Public Schools grade K-12 where she graduated Bayside High School class of 98'. Brandy furthered her education and became a passionate care giver, licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia through Glorias Angels Home Health Care in June 2015. Brandy studied as a medical assistant as well. With nursing, Brandy held many positions.
Brandy was a very hard worker. She decided she wanted to sail. With her father's guidance and lots of studying Brandy enrolled in the apprenticeship program to study Engineering at Piney Point, MD as a Merchant Marine. Brandy sailed on many vessels working for a few companies such as Ocean Duchess, Inc and Maers Line Limited.
Brandy, our love, was a very loving and caring person. Brandy was a very strong willed and determined woman and always about her business. Brandy had her way of showing special love by fussing you out, crying, hugging and squeezing you. Brandy had a giving spirit especially on birthdays, she wanted to celebrate with everyone.
Brandy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior later in life. Her dad always told her you must have a relationship of your own with the Lord. As she entered the gates her three guardian angels were there to greet her as she called them mom, dad, and grandma.
Brandy found comfort in her support dog Rocky June Baker, who was with her until the end.
Brandy was predeceased by her loving parents, Joyce B. Baker-Cameron and Arthur Joyner, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Mrs. Leonora Ruffin-Baker and Lassie Baker; paternal grandparents, Mrs. Mary Etta Joyner and Arther Joyner, Sr.
Brandy leaves to cherish her memories one brother, Kenya M. Johnson (Jessica); two nephews, Noah and Noel; goddaughter, Chyna B. and Samiyah S. who she adored and cared for immensely; aunt/mother, Marinda Joyner whom she cherished immensely; five uncles, Michael Joyner (Virginia), Jeffrey Joyner, Travis Baker, Kerry Baker (Pamela), Ricky Baker all of Virginia; great aunt, Annie Ruffin-Cox of Greenville, NC; Sistercousins as she affectionately addressed them, Tiffany (Ronald), Cherelle, Lynndora, Sharie (Kurt), Shawton (Deshawn), Sharome, Sharnia, Shaina, Shakiyla, Tierra and Karen; male cousins, T.
