Brandy Jo O’Brien, 48, of Riverside, Missouri passed away on May 26, 2025. Born on September 23, 1976, in North Kansas City, Missouri, Brandy brought warmth and energy to all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Park Hill High School in the Class of 1994, Brandy went to attend Arizona State University. Her love for learning and vibrant spirit carried through every chapter of her life.

Brandy’s heart belonged first and foremost to her family. She is lovingly remembered by her mother and step-father, Debbie and Bubby Bush of Kansas City; her sister Kelly Hart and husband Justin of Warsaw, Missouri; her brother Shawn O’Brien and Lillianna of Kansas City; nephew Jacob Hart and his wife Kaitlynne; niece Kimberly Hart; nephew Shawn O’Brien Jr.; niece Scarlette O’Brien; great-nieces Kailey and Teagan Hart; Uncle Marty Davis and his wife Sandy; cousins Mark Barry and Derek Melber; and cousin and best friend J.D. Hoover.

She was preceded in death by her father James Patrick O’Brien; grandparents LC and Opal O’Brien and Bill and Darlene Baldwin; and her aunt Mary Locke.

Brandy had a deep passion for sports, especially cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and the KU Jayhawks. Her enthusiasm was infectious, whether she was watching a game or talking about her favorite teams. But above all else, Brandy’s greatest joy came from spending time with her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces. They were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment with them.

Those who knew Brandy will remember her as someone who loved with everything she had. Her devotion to family was unwavering, matched only by the pride she took in being part of the Chiefs Kingdom.

May Brandy Jo O’Brien’s memory be comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Brandy's family would like everyone to wear their Chiefs and Jayhawks gear to celebrate Brandy's love for her Kansas City teams.
