Brenda Sue Arvik

Brenda Sue (McDonald) Arvik, 64, of Wapella, Illinois, passed away on September 11, 2025.
A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Heyworth, Illinois. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. also at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Gray officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Township Memorial Cemetery, Heyworth, IL. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Brenda was born, October 11, 1960, to Robert and Lois McDonald, the only daughter of three children.
Brenda always called Central Illinois home but for a short time also lived in Colorado and Florida. For more than 48 years she was the beloved wife of Douglas Dale Arvik and the devoted mother to Shena Marie (Matthew) Jenkins and Tiffany Lyn (Kevin) Hankis. She was a loving grandmother to Douglas "Bucky" Michael England, Matthew Robert Jenkins, Austin Dale Jenkins, Kevin John Hankis, Cora Lyn Hankis, Kellan Oliver Hankis and Henley Rose Hankis. She was sister to Timothy (Michelle) McDonald and Robert (Kathryn) McDonald Jr and niece, aunt, and friend to countless others throughout McLean County.
Brenda was strong in faith whose strength in belief could only be rivaled by her loving spirit. Brenda never knew a stranger and would find a friend or someone to talk to wherever she went. She passed along her strong unwavering convictions, friendship, and love for the Lord to anyone that would listen. Her spirit was strong, as was her love for her family, especially her parents, spouse, children, and grandchildren. She was extremely generous, often giving to charities like Saint Jude and other religious organizations. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading her bible, trips to the casino, country and gospel music, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, brothers, and father. She was preceded in death by her mother Lois, grandchild Kevin John, and other family members including aunts and cousins.
