Brenda (Borchardt) Bardon passed away on September 25, 2025, in Owosso, Michigan,

after a period of declining health and surrounded by her family and loved ones. Born on May 12,

1944, Brenda grew up in Southfield, meeting and marrying the love of her life, Edward Bardon.

Together they raised four children: Edward Charles (deceased), Angela (Eric Horstman), Christopher,

and youngest daughter Cindy (David Louwsma). She was proceeded in death by her parents, as well

as siblings Freeman, Jimmy, and Beverly.

Brenda's greatest joy was her family. She adored her grandchildren: Alexandra, Tiana, Jaeger

(Taylor), Keegan Horstman; Nicholas (Ashley) Cool, Summer (Will Mehney), Parker (ask Maykayla),

Cooper Smith; Tyler, Josh, Austin Bardon; great-grandchildren Hudson and Cora Cool; nieces Jaclyn

(Jake), Jamie, Julie (Adam), Jessica; brother Mark Borchardt of Algonac, as well as countless other

family, friends, and loved ones.

A master of many trades, her crepes became as legendary among her family as her customized

seamstress projects and quilting skills, handmaking masterpieces for each of her grandchildren, as

well as custom panels for her own home and those of others. A lifelong Elvis Presley fan, Brenda and

childhood friend, Pat Hampton (deceased), attended his late 70's concert in Detroit, a memory she

always treasured. In later years, she enjoyed traveling, with trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Florida,

Tennessee, and Graceland standing out among her adventures.

Brenda's greatest love was her family. A stay-home mom, she officially retired as a medical secretary,

while continuing to serve as a health aide and companion to many special needs children. She was a

proud member of the Red Hat Society, as well as a hospice volunteer, and a Mary Kay consultant. A

talented carver, Brenda was probably best known for her sense of humor and daring personality.

Her home was filled with the laughter of her grandchildren, watching scary movies together, and

playing in the creek by the front yard. Being a grandmother was the role she loved most. She leaves

behind a legacy of love, devotion, and kindness which will be remembered in every quilt she stitched,

every story she shared, and every life she touched.

A memorial gathering will take place on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 2-5:00 pm with a time of

sharing at 5:00 pm at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, 214 S. Main St., Perry, MI 48872.
