Lafayette: Celebration of Life for Brenda Louise Bessard will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Cunningham CME Church in Rayne, La. The visitation begins at 8AM with the service following at 11AM. Interment will be in Community Garden.
On November 7, 2024 The Angel of Death sounded her trumpet and a beautiful white dove bounded Rayne, Louisiana, where a faithful servant awaited her master's call. She was always willing to do the works of the Lord and was prepared for her maker's command.
Brenda Crandle Joseph, Nina as she was affectionately known, was born September 20, 1943 in Rayne Louisiana to the late Arthur and Lucille Crandle. She attended Acadia Parish training school. She loved hanging around and being with her siblings. As an adult, she moved to Hartford, Connecticut, and went to school for Insurance and worked as an insurance claims specialist. She later returned home (La) where she went back to school to get her CNA license and worked as a CNA here in Louisiana and also when she moved to California. She returned to Louisiana in 1997 where she spent the rest of her time pouring into her husband, daughter, grandchildren, and later great grandchildren. She was an avid reader, and she journal religiously, her thoughts, her prayers and her goals. She was a member of St Matthews Baptist Church. She was a beloved sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and friend.
Brenda was proceeded in death by her parents Arthur and Lucile Crandle; her husband Clarence Joseph; one daughter, Faith Bessard, three brothers, Arthur Crandle Jr., Darphus Crandle, and Russell Crandle; two sisters, Nettie Mae Mouton and Beatrice Perry.
Brenda leaves to cherish her sweet memories one daughter, Tajuana Bessard of Rayne, Louisiana; two granddaughters, Cameron Bessard and Amya Bellard. of Rayne, Louisiana; two great grandchildren Brayton Jones and Harmoni Jones of Rayne, Louisiana; three sisters, Thelma Warren and Lucille Broussard of Los Angeles, California, Irma-Jean Crandle of San Francisco, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-Law, brothers-in-law, cousins, and friends.
