Brenda Cooley Obituary
It is with a sad and heavy heart that we announce the passing of Brenda Cooley age 79, in Stearns, Kentucky. She passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2025 in her home while being cared for by her daughter and grandson.
Brenda was a devoted mom, grandma, and friend. Her full time job was being a mom. She overcame many obstacles in her life but she never let anything get in the way. She lived life on her terms. She enjoyed playing cards, watching paranormal TV shows, and watching birds, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.
Brenda leaves behind three children, Amy Tauscher, Willy and his wife Alisha Cooley and Christopher Cooley, and three grandsons Caleb Tauscher, Kenton Cooley and Kayden Cooley.
She also leaves behind her sister Sue Dixon, her niece Sharon Hicks, her sisters in law Sandra Shepherd and Fayrene Shepherd, and her best friend Kathy Owens.
She also leaves behind many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Millie Shepherd, her brothers George Shepherd, Bob Shepherd, Donald Shepherd, Roger Shepherd and Wayne Shepherd, and sister Lora Foster.
Brenda’s love for her family was deep and unwavering, and she gave of herself freely—always ready to chat with a cup of black coffee in hand. She was known for her infectious laugh and larger-than-life personality, Brenda was truly the life of the party. Her sense of humor, quick wit, and giving spirit made her unforgettable to everyone who had the joy of knowing her. Whether sharing a funny story, talking about what was on her mind, or lifting others up in hard times, she brought joy and light wherever she went.Though she is no longer with us, Brenda’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved her. Her laughter will echo in our memories, and her love will guide us
.A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
McCreary County Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements of Brenda Cooley.
