Brenda Fort

Brenda G. Fort passed away on Sunday November 9, 2025 at the age of 83 with her loving family by her side in Port Jefferson, New York.

She was born on October 3, 1942 in Queens, New York. She grew up in Williston Park along with her mother Lorraine, and two sisters Barbara and Lorraine. Brenda attended Mineola High School where she was part of the Theta Delta Chi Sorority and was a majorette who twirled fire batons. She was also a member in many organizations such as the Office of Civil Defense and United States Air Force Air Defense Command.

She married Robert Peter Fort Sr. (predeceased) on September 2, 1961 at the Church of St Aidan in Williston Park. Brenda and Bob had three children together Bob (spouse Erin), Donna (spouse Jon) and Kim (spouse Henry).

Brenda worked at the Comsewogue Public Library for 33 years. She began her career at the circulation desk and then as the assistant to the director of the library. She volunteered for many organizations throughout her life including; The Girl Scouts (Leader), Cub Scouts, Veterans Memorial Football League (Cheerleading Coach), PTA (president), Homemakers, and St Gerard's Majella Church. Brenda was an avid crafter who enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilling. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She loved cooking and baking cookies for her family and friends. She was a devoted grandmother to Colleen (Spouse Josh), Robbie, Tyler, Gracie, Kenny, Logan, Colin and Great Grandmother to Judah, Zeke and Lillian. She was also a grandmother figure to Grace and Matthew.

She will be greatly missed by many as she always put others needs above her own.

She is at peace now with her beloved husband, mother, and sister.
