Brenda Marie Gilbert passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at the age of 60 in Wyandotte, Michigan. Born on August 23, 1965, in Hartford, Connecticut, Brenda was a vibrant light in the lives of all who knew her. Her laughter and love knew no bounds, and she will be deeply missed by many.
Brenda was the beloved wife of John Gilbert, and together they built a life full of love and laughter. She was the cherished mother of Megan Bradshaw (Michael), Sara Gilbert (Bud Bryant), and Mike Beasley (Jairen), who will carry on her legacy of joy and kindness. Brenda was also a proud grandmother to Nicholas, Savannah, Bud, Joann, Jayden, Lili, and Theo, and a delighted great-grandmother to Dominic. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she reveled in their accomplishments and adventures.
Preceded in death by her parents, Robert Craig Sr. and Marian Latrelle, and her siblings Pamela and Debbie, Brenda is survived by her brothers Robert, George, and Craig, her sisters Sharon and Selena, and her stepfather James Smith. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured each relationship with care and enthusiasm.
Brenda's passion for life was evident in everything she did. She had an enduring love for deer and the serene beauty they represent. Her days as a bartender were filled with stories and smiles, as she had a natural gift for making everyone around her feel welcome and valued. Brenda's family was her greatest joy, and she devoted herself to creating a warm and loving home for them.
Those who knew Brenda will remember her as the embodiment of humor, love, and passion. She had an uncanny ability to find the humor in any situation, and her laughter was infectious. Brenda loved deeply and without reservation, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her passion for life was evident in her every action, and she inspired those around her to live each day to the fullest.
As we say farewell to Brenda Marie Gilbert, we celebrate a life that was lived with enthusiasm and grace. Her spirit will continue to guide and comfort us, and her memory will be cherished forever. Brenda's presence in our lives was a gift, and though she has left this earthly realm, her legacy of love and laughter will endure.
