Brenda Carol Freeman Grimsley, age 72, passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
Brenda was born in Montgomery County on March 20, 1951, to the late Dwight Freeman and Ruth McCaskill Freeman. She was a graduate of West Montgomery High School and a retired Nurse. Brenda enjoyed playing with her grandchildren. She loved flowers and scrolling Facebook. She also enjoyed baking, especially pound cakes. She was a member of Ophir Methodist Church. She loved her fur babies, Jaxson and Mason.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 22 years: Landon Grimsley of the home; son: Josh Gooch (Tara) of Thomasville; daughter: Sunshine Dennis (Jason) of Troy; step-daughter: Megan Smith (Christophir) of Little Rock AR; grandchildren: Savannah, Ryli, Georgia Kate, Nora, Tristan, and Levi. She was preceded in death by her brother Donnie Freeman.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Ophir Methodist Church, 2020 Ophir Rd., Troy. A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Doug Hefner officiating.
Memorial donations may be made in Brenda's honor to Montgomery County Humane Society, 1150 Okeeweemee Road, Troy, NC 27371, Attn: Sally Morris.
