Pugh Funeral Home - TroyNorma Maxine Lattimore Koch age 93 of Troy, NC, passed away peacefully at her home in Troy on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Norma was born on October 22, 1931, in Shelby, NC to the late Jesse Eugene Lattimore and Gazzie Lee Putnam Lattimore. She was a graduate of Wake Forest University. “Mama Koch” began her teaching career at Troy High School, before going to West Montgomery High School as a biology teacher. She was an avid sports fan, especially pulling for the Deamon Deacons. She loved shopping and reading! Mrs. Koch was an ardent supporter of the "Friends of the Library".
Norma is survived by her daughters: Nicole Koch of Troy, Adeena East (Winston) of Norwood, and Kiki Praser (Eric) of Canton, GA; grandchildren: Kaz Hulin (Hilary), Dax Hulin (Samantha), Klein East, Nicholas East (Katie) Tyler Koch, and Shelby Koch; great-grandchildren: Zyn Hulin, Liepa Hulin, Wyatt Hulin, Miya Hulin, Asher East, Carter East, Heidi Koch, Camilla Koch, and Kamden Cheek. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joseph Koch and son Michael Koch.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Pugh Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy, NC. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bob Gruver officiating. Burial will follow the service at Southside Cemetery, S. Main St., Troy, NC.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either Tillery Compassionate Care, 960 N. 1st St., Albemarle, NC 28001 or to Humane Society of the Uwharries, P.O. Box 231, Troy, NC 27371.
