Brenda G. Halcomb, cherished member of the Tazewell community, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on December 15, 1956, in Hazard, Kentucky, Brenda's warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her.
Brenda was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Curtis and Beulah Halcomb, her sister Doris Roberts, her brother Dannie Halcomb, and her beloved nephew Deve Roberts. Brenda's spirit of compassion and her joy for life were shaped by these early relationships, which continued to influence her throughout her years.
Brenda's legacy will be carried on by her loving sister, Thelma Smith, and her adored nieces and nephews: Danny Roberts and his wife Donna, Candy Martinez and her husband Gilbert, Clarence Smith, and Charles Smith, Jr. and wife Lisa. Each of them will hold dear their memories of Brenda's unwavering support and gentle guidance. Her great-nieces and great-nephews-Jennifer Arthur, Nick Roberts and his wife Jessie, Ezekiel Martinez and his wife Caitlin, Jirell Martinez and his wife Sarah, Ethan Martinez, Richard Roberts and his wife Sarah, Keely Pollard and her husband Josh, Jordan Smith, Tanner Smith, and Remington Smith-will remember her as a source of endless encouragement and joy. Brenda's great-great-nieces and nephews-Adalynn Roberts, Greyson Martinez, Riley Osborne, Sophia Martinez, Jase Arthur, Jessa Arthur, and Palmer Bray.
Brenda's impact extended beyond her immediate family; she was a faithful member of The Upper Room Ministries. She will be remembered for her ability to turn a stranger into a friend, and a friend into family.
Brenda will be deeply missed, yet her legacy of kindness will never be forgotten. Let us honor her memory by embracing the compassion and warmth that she so freely gave to the world.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 2, 2025 from 11am till 1pm in the Claiborne ~Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with funeral to follow at 1pm in the Claiborne ~Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Ual Russell officiating. The burial will be in the Irish Memorial Gardens.
The Pallbearers: Clarence Smith, Jirell Martinez, Ethan Martinez, Gilbert Martinez, Danny Roberts and Nick Roberts.
