Brenda Jester Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by YANDA & SON FUNERAL HOME - YUKON on Dec. 3, 2022.
Brenda Carol Jester, age 65, died on Thursday, December 1, 2022. She was born Brenda Carol Smith on November 11, 1957, in Oklahoma City, and was the 3rd of three children born to Mynard and Jean Smith.
Brenda grew up a card carrying Yukon Miller, graduating in 1976. During her school years she met her future husband, Timothy Charles Jester. They were married in Las Vegas, NV on May 27, 1980. Together they had two sons, Eric and Adam Jester.
Brenda expertly handled the multitude of duties associated with being a working mother with two boys and a husband. She was deeply involved in her boys schooling and encouraged their participation in athletics and music. There was hardly a game, tournament, concert, recital, or parent-teacher conference she could bare to miss. If her children were involved, she was as well. And she still found the time to cook homemade meals almost every night for dinner. All the while modeling a work ethic that would allow Brenda to retire from 30 years at the telephone company in 2007.
Still, it wasn't just her family she would bless with her grit, wit, and organizational skills. She worked with the Yukon Alumni Association to plan multiple high school reunions for both her and her husband's class.
When her granddaughter, Nolan, was born she had a new member of the family to help guide, raise, and protect; which she embraced with all her heart and effort.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Jester of Yukon; her two sons, Adam and Eric (Jordan) Jester of Yukon, and granddaughter Nolan; nieces and nephews, Robert Potter of El Reno, Derick Miller (Shawna) of Norman, Andrea Cherry of Oklahoma City, and Kyla Owl (Michael Gaines) of Moore, OK
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ben Mynard Smith and Jean Smith, and her sisters, Linda Gayle Owl and Patricia Kay Baker.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2022 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, OK.
