Brenda Joyce Jones, 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024. She was a beloved mother, MawMaw, sister, and aunt, known for her unwavering devotion to her family. A lifelong fan of the UofL Cardinals, Brenda had a passion for sports, enjoyed dancing, and cherished her visits to the beach where she found joy in watching the ocean. Most importantly, she relished the time spent with her family, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever. Brenda will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on August 18, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Woodrow and Elnora (Jones) Murphy. Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Wilson Murphy; mother, Elnora J. Murphy; husband, David Jones; brothers, Gene and Jim Murphy; and sister-in-law, Muriel Murphy.
Brenda is survived by her loving family, including her daughter, Holly (Chad) Walker; son, David Paul Jones; grandchildren, Sydney (Patrick Hill) Guthrie and Ian (Elise) Guthrie; great-grandchildren Ezra Walker and Lillith Hill; sister Carolyn (Jackie) Davis; brother Leroy "Pat" (Tina) Murphy; sisters-in-law Paula and Phyllis Murphy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever cherish her loving memory.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of Brenda's life will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the same location.
