Lacy Maria Beard, 47, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away far too soon. She was born to Deborah Lacy and the late Peter Beard, and her loss leaves a deep ache in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Lacy was a strong, humble, and selfless woman whose life was defined by her generosity, resilience, and fierce love for her family. She was the proud mother of four sons—Chase Albert (Haylee) James, Carter Andrew James, Caden Alan James, and Alexander Augustine Gardner—who were the joy and legacy of her life. She was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of two grandchildren, a granddaughter and a grandson she already loved deeply.
Lacy is survived by her mother, Deborah Lacy, her stepmother, Jan Beard; her stepfather, Reginald Bennett, and her siblings: Chris Beard, Cheryl Mullis (Jared), Reginald Bennett II, Jason Wise (Rachelle), and Brandi Howell (Brian). She is also survived by her boyfriend, Ben Emley, her cousin and dearest friend, Robbie Ritchie, and godson Trey Mullis, all of whom held special places in her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Peter Beard; her maternal grandparents, John and Mary Lacy; her uncle Darryl Lacy, her aunt Sherree Beard Hockensmith, and her paternal grandmother, Elfrieda Beard.
She was proud of earning her nursing degree, a reflection of her lifelong desire to care for others. Lacy enjoyed diamond art, movies, dining out, cooking, and cheering for her beloved UK Wildcats. She was known for her bright smile, her unfiltered humor, and her ability to find laughter even in difficult moments.
Above all, Lacy will be remembered for her strength, her loyalty, and the way she loved her family with her whole heart.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lacy’s life on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel in Louisville, Kentucky.
Lacy’s memory will live on in her children, her siblings, her family, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness and spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be given to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
