Donald E. Head

Donald E. Head (Don), age 77, of Louisville, Kentucky entered into eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday November 18, 2025, at Norton Audubon Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Alma (Wine) Head, a great nephew Noah Spencer, and a brother-in-law James Bullerdick.
Don was a gentle, kind, and caring person who was loved by many. He attended Bellarmine University and the University of Louisville. Don proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam war era, stationed in both the Pentagon and Okinawa, Japan. Don retired after working many years with the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier in Louisville, Kentucky. Don was a quiet person by nature and enjoyed being outdoors, watching game shows on television, and the occasional trip to Las Vegas. Don's ability to focus on details made him a meticulous bookkeeper. Because of his caring nature for his fellow tenants, Don selflessly maintained the Condominium's pool where he lived. But his greatest joy came through sharing his time and love with family at gatherings.
Don is survived by his siblings Lynn Kleinholter (Bob), Pat Bullerdick, Steve Head, Mike Head (Cindy), and Susan Bruker (Mike), his loving companion of 40 years Susie Cartwright and her daughter Angela Hillerich, and his 10 nieces and nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews, and 1 great great niece. Visitation to celebrate Don's life will be held Monday November 24th from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a brief prayer service immediately following at Bosse Funeral Home (1355 Ellison Ave. 40204). A private interment service will take place with immediate family the following morning.
