Brenda Faye Latimer, 73, of Thaxton passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024. She was born on February 22, 1951, to the late George William Latimer and Norma Jean Hawkins Latimer. In addition to her father Brenda was preceded in death by brother, Richard Latimer.
Brenda was a very involved person, she wrote music for comedy skits at church, did stand-up comedy, was involved with little town players. She carried the torch for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. Brenda had a B.A. degree from James Madison University, a degree in Biblical Studies from Liberty University. She taught Sunday School at Lighthouse Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, Brenda is survived by her brothers, Kenneth Latimer (Joyce), Terry Latimer (Mary Beth); nephews, Kenan Latimer (Tonya), Neal Latimer (Tonya); Niece, Jessie Latimer Barceló; Numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:00pm, April 3, 2024, at Tharp Funeral Chapel Bedford, with Dr. Daniel Smith and Pastor Larry Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday April 2, 2024 at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
