Brenda Kay Owen, age 74, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 8:30 A.M. to l:00 P.M.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. , Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Garden of Memories, Sweewater, Texas with Dr. J.T. Thornton officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home, 403 Locust Street, Sweetwater, Texas.
Brenda was born on September 20, l950 in Sweetwater, Texas to William Ree Owen, Sr. and Mary Katherine (Hunt) Owen. She worked as a science teacher and administrator for Katy ISD for over thirty years. She loved the Houston Astros, Katy Tigers, Sweetwater Mustangs and eating out with her friends. She will be truly missed by her family, friends and students.
She is survived by her nephew, Terry Ree Owen and wife Amanda of Cleburne, Texas; great nephew, William Robert Owen of Eagle Point, Oregon; great niece, Kelli Elizabeth Owen of Azle, Texas; great great niece, Kira Elizabeth Hoover and great great nephew, Matthew Dean Owen and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Ree and Mary Katherine Owen, and brother, Michael Terry Owen.
In lieu of flowers, a gift to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
