Brenda Nelson Russell was born on April 12, 1951, in Abilene, Texas, to Ruby and Billy Nelson. She attended school in Abilene and graduated from Cooper High School in 1970. Committed to her passion for beauty, she pursued her education at Alladin Beauty College, graduating in 1986.
Brenda married Jerry Little in 1970 in Abilene, Texas, and together they had two children, Carrie Hensley and Justin Little. On September 2, 1988, Brenda married Randy Russell in Abilene. She worked as a cosmetologist at M & M Beauty Salon for several years, where she shared her creativity and talent with clients. Throughout her life, Brenda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In her free time, Brenda enjoyed reading and painting. Her devotion to her children was unmatched; she frequently took trips with her daughter on many adventures. When not exploring with her daughter, she would spend countless hours on the phone with her son or playing games with him. Her home was always filled with love and laughter, as she often spent time in the kitchen preparing meals for her large family, especially her grandchildren. Many fond memories were created at the lake, where she taught her grandchildren how to fish.
As her great-grandchildren arrived, Brenda continued to shower them with love, delighting in reading them stories, playing games, and cooking her famous shoestring French fries and mini pancakes.
Brenda's nurturing spirit and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband Randy Russell, her parents Ruby and Billy Nelson, and her sister Debbie Floyd.
Brenda is survived by her children; daughter Carrie Hensley and husband Kerry, son Justin Little; brother Garry Nelson and wife Debra; sisters Judy McArthur and husband Phil, Tina Rogers and husband Sam, Gina Briggs, and Terry Nelson. Additionally, she leaves behind three grandchildren, Jerron Hensley, Dillon Hensley and wife Keisha, Corbin Russell, as well as three great-grandchildren, Graceyn Hensley, Rainey Hensley, and Cole Hensley.
