Michael Shane Rogers, 45, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Abilene, Texas. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Elmwood Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 14, 2025, in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas.
Michael was born on June 27, 1980, to Bill and Pam Rogers in Abilene, Texas. He attended and graduated from Cooper High School in 1998. From a young age, Michael had a love for the outdoors and turned that passion into a lifelong career as a landscaper. Like his Dad, he loved to work with his hands, and they often did this together.
He enjoyed cookouts, music, hunting, and going to the casino with Mom, where he would DJ on those road trips, blaring music all the way. Golf tournaments with his stepdad brought him joy. Michael loved to cheer on his brother and nephews at their mountain bike races and to proudly watch his niece in her theater performances. He had a lifelong love of basketball and was a devoted Dallas Mavericks fan, then sorta a Lakers fan when Luka was traded--but NEVER a Spurs fan!
Above all, Michael’s greatest joy in life was his son, Nicholas, whom he loved with all his heart. He was the best father, a constant source of love, laughter, and pride.
Preceded in death by his father, Bill Rogers; stepbrother, Ryan Luckenbach; his Grandparents Jean and David Gates (Nannie and Papa), and Irene and Clyde Rogers.
Michael is survived by his son, Nicholas Rogers; his mother, Pam Luckenbach and stepdad Kelly; his brother, Brandon Rogers and his wife Danyel; his stepbrother, Lance Luckenbach and his wife Jo; and his niece and nephews, Mya, Bennett, Lucas and Quinn.
Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
