Walter Cooper Daniel

Walter Cooper Daniel, age 76, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025.

Born on February 7, 1949, in Abilene, Texas, Walter was the son of J Neil and Frances Hill Daniel. Walter grew up in Abilene, attended Abilene Public Schools and graduated from Cooper High School in 1967. Walter was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Vietnam era.

Walter worked many years for Merchants Freight in Abilene and the DFW area and had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for the last 25 years of his career.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Weeze Daniel and sister Gayle Daniel Rea. He is survived by his sister Sharon Daniel Robertson, and several nieces and nephews.

The family of Walter wish to thank the excellent surgeons, doctors and nurses of U.T. Southwest, Dallas and Baylor Scott & White Rehab, Dallas. Also, a special thanks to his caretakers at the end of life who lovingly cared for him. Lastly Walter had sincere appreciation to many who he called "friends".

A celebration of Walter's life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 1:00 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel located at 6449 Bu alo Gap Road.
