Brenda Scharf, 68, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from complications of Muscular Dystrophy. She was preceded in death by her husband Dan Scharf, son Mark Scharf, twin sister Linda Atwell, parents Bill and Doris Barnwell. Brenda was a lifelong resident of Fort Smith and Cedarville, Arkansas. She attended Albert Pike, Darby and Northside public schools. She retired from Planters Peanuts after more than 30 years. She enjoyed backyard cookouts, houseplants and was gifted at writing poetry. She attended The Refuge Church, loved the Lord and had a desire for others to know and love Him also. She was a caregiver for various family members through the years, Brenda loved all her family very much, including her 2 little dogs-Puddintain and Minnie and her wonderful neighnors, The Workman's. She is survived by her children, Dana (Chris), Shawn and Heather; her grandcildren, Kailum, Aaron, Nathan, Hannah, Cody, Devon, Koda, Fairon, Taylor, Alanah, Jocie, Dawson, Ayson, Ella and Eli; and her great grandchildren Juniper and Astrid. Brenda is also survived by her sister, Dian (Tom) Harris, niece Sara (Nick) Allen, Bailey and Brody, and niece Amy Harris, brother-in-law Bob Atwell, nephew Brad (Candi) Atwell and Lindsey, Chris and Caitlin (Grant) and Michael, and nephew Matt Atwell. Memorials may be made to her church: The Refuge Church 500 Jefferson Street Van Buren, AR. Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023 at The U.S.National Cemetery in Fort Smith, AR. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, AR.
