Brenda was born in Beaumont, Texas to Roger Marcus and Flora Nella (Hodgkinson) Plunk. After Roger's commitment to the Coast Guard the family moved back to Dundee, Ohio. In 1962 Brenda graduated from Garaway High School in Sugarcreek, Ohio. During her sophomore year she met Bill and as classmates, they fell in love. They were married on August 9, 1964, and enjoyed 61 years of marriage.

Brenda was a Registered Nurse and worked in the ER at Mansfield General Hospital. She transferred to Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus where she worked in the Pulmonary department. Toward the end of her career, she worked as a Patient Advocate at Care Source. Brenda was a member of Church of the Messiah in Westerville for 35 years and a devoted Alto in the church choir.

Brenda is survived by her husband Bill. Her children include Tim (Karen), Troy, and Trish (Andy) Malley. She enjoyed 5 grandchildren, Madison (Chris) Cline, McKenzie (Alex) Rexroad, Cameron Stauffer, and Kenna and Ronan Malley. Great grandchildren include Meridith, Caden, and Mia Cline, and Madilyn Rexroad.

Donations may be made in her honor to the Westerville Area Resource Ministry.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 3, 2025, at Church of the Messiah, 51 N. State Street, Westerville, Ohio 43081 with visitation from 10:00 to 12:00 followed by the memorial service and a reception.

The service will be livestreamed on the church's website at www.messiahumc.net.
