There will be a Celebration of Life held on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Gouverneur VFW. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
Brenda was born on June 6, 1951 in Gouverneur to the late Amos C. and Gartha (Huckle) Youngs. She graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1969 and earned an Associate degree from Canton ATC.
Brenda married Leroy T. Tharrett, Sr. on December 14, 1991. Leroy passed away on April 2, 2017. Brenda worked as the Bakery Manager for P&C in Gouverneur for many years before retiring in 2005. She then worked as a cafeteria worker for Gouverneur Central School.
Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family, crafting, and working the concession stand at the ballfield.
She is survived by her children, Anthony and Rachael Besaw, Aaron Besaw, Sr. and his fiancé Jennifer Fullerton, and Angela and Ron Walsh; her sister, Marjorie Durham; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Brenda is predeceased by her brothers, Randy, Timmy, and Jeff Youngs and a sister, Julieanne McBroom.
