Mrs. Brenda J. Walbert

Brenda J. (Landis) Walbert, 82, formerly of Bowers and Keystone Villa, Blandon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Country Meadows, Wyomissing. She was the widow of Walter J. "Squirrely" Walbert, who died April 22, 2014. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary prior to his passing. Born in the village of Freehall, Longswamp Township, Brenda was a daughter of the late Howard R. and Leah M. (Webb) Landis, and was a 1959 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, Topton. Brenda, along with her husband Walter, owned and operated Walbert's Carpeting, Bowers, for over 35 years until their retirement in 1997. Brenda was a member of Christ (DeLong) United Church of Christ, Bowers, and Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 336, Kutztown, PA. Brenda and Squirrely loved socializing and being around people. Whether it was hosting parties at their home, pool or garage, or attending other social events. Brenda's outgoing personality will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Brenda is survived by her daughters, Kathy L. (Walbert) Reed Piegari, wife of Guy N. Piegari, MD, Wyomissing and Tracey C. (Walbert) Spinka, wife of Mark J. Spinka, Jenkintown, Montgomery County; six grandchildren, Lindsay A. Reed, Chelsey L. (Reed) Behler, Emily E. (Spinka) Simpson, Lindsey J. (Spinka) Gregro, Callum A. Otieno and Leah S. Spinka; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Joyce E. (Landis), widow of Ernest D. Meck, Wescosville, Muriel C. (Landis), wife of Kenneth L. Rauch, Bowers, and Dale H. Landis, Kutztown; and many nieces and nephews and their families. Along with her husband and parents, Brenda was predeceased by her siblings, Eugene, Raymond and Thelma. A memorial service to celebrate and honor Brenda's life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA, 19530. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton, PA.
