Brenda Kay Westmoreland Barnes

Brenda Kay Westmoreland Barnes, age 73, wife of Steven Barnes, and a longtime resident of Primm Springs, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Josh McCord and Keith Baker officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Santa Fe Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, Brenda was born on July 19, 1952, and was the daughter of the late George Westmoreland and the late Mary Kelley Westmoreland. She was a 1970 graduate of Santa Fe High School. On August 9, 1974, she married Steven Barnes, and together they had three children. Brenda worked for many years at General Electric, where her dedication and strong work ethic led her to a supervisory role. In her earlier years, she regularly attended Elmore Church of the Nazarene.

Brenda took great pride in working outdoors and was known for maintaining an immaculate yard and beautiful flowers. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time in nature. A devoted homemaker, she had a nurturing spirit and was always willing to help anyone in need. Known for her wonderful sense of humor, she loved to laugh, have fun, and joke with the people around her. She loved all sports and was an avid University of Alabama football fan.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Stevie Barnes (Josh Nollner) of Charlotte, TN, Bethanie (Trai) Davenport of White House, TN, Kyle Barnes of Primm Springs, TN, sisters, Sandra (Garry) McCord of Primm Springs, TN, Nancy Westmoreland (William England) of Primm Springs, TN, grandchildren, Emma Nollner, Mia Nollner, Trace Davenport, Taylor Davenport, and special nephew, Josh McCord.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Westmoreland.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Josh Nollner, Trai Davenport, Josh McCord, Larry “Bubba” Flowers, Cory Barnes, and Trace Davenport. Honorary pallbearers will include Santa Fe High School class of 1970 and her coworkers at General Electric.
